In conclusion this blog has investigated that being a hurrier was an extremely tasking, over bearing, dangerous and incredibly depressing job. The main candidates who were chosen for this job were women and children who were employed low pay and long hours. This job was originally created for the transportation of coal in the mines. The Hurriers suffered greatly from diseases and mine cart accidents which often ended in quitting their job. The ones who benefitted from the Hurriers where the mine owners and coal companies who gained lots of profit by not having to pay the employees very much pay and that they were given 12 hours or more a day. This job does not exist in the modern day as it is not needed as we have massive machine that mine and transport the coal. Hurriers had one of the hardest job in the industrial revolution.
Hurriers have been run out of business becuase of the use of coal powered or electronically powere mine carts. The carts are pushed on rail way tracks in mines. The children and women would often quit becuase of the diseases they contracted so the development to find a replacement of Hurriers was sped up and found alternatives
This job does not exist in the modern world because there is no need for children and women to hurry coal carts through paces as now in mines we do things electronically and have of the ways of mining and transporting things. These days in coal mines people use massive machines to mine coal so there is no point now to even use coal miners.
The people who benefitted from this type of work were the coal mine owners, the electric companies and the people who use electricity. The coal mine owners benefit because they get to employ people for below minimum wage and young kids who are flexible and can work for hours on end. The electric companies benefitted becuase they got a lot of coal and fast because of the use of Hurriers and the transport systems they use. Finally people who use electric are benefitted becuase they get electricity and without Hurriers collected the coal would be a long and tedious task which would delay the source of coal.
The main candidates that suffered from this type of work are the women and children that worked in the mines pulling and pushing the carts up incline for sometimes more than 12 hours a day. The workers working down in the mines contracted diseases such as the black lung disease which is an infection in the lungs sometime containing cancer.
Hurriers came into the existance in the industrial revolution because coal mining was prominent in the time of factories and electricity. Th coal mine owners needed someone to transport the coal carts to different places. The employers need people who could work extremely long ours and in tight spaces, that is why they chose children and women to do it for low pay.
